Welcome to Kennedy Elementary

Together We Can

A neighborhood school with a family commitment.

Welcome to Kennedy Elementary! We are one of Madison’s largest elementary schools, a diverse community of 520 learners served by a dedicated staff and supported by our families. We are 50 years strong and recently grew to include our first 4K classes. With the completion of a recent renovation, Kennedy is also fully accessible for the first time. Together we can ensure that all of our students, families, and staff have what they need to learn and grow.

Our mission is to ensure that all children succeed academically and socially so that they continue developing lifelong learning skills and respect for diversity, by providing an appropriately challenging curriculum and a safe, nurturing learning environment that fosters individual responsibility and productive citizenship.

What Makes Kennedy Unique

  • All students receive weekly instruction in specials classes including technology, library, physical education, art, and music.
  • Student art work displayed at Pinney Branch library.

” ‘It takes a big heart, to help shape growing minds.’ This quote embodies Kennedy Elementary School Staff. At Kennedy, staff are caring, go the extra mile to make a difference for each student, build meaningful relationships with families, encourage students to go to the next level in their learning, all while having fun together as a school team.”

Support Our School

MEET OUR ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PARTNERS

Through the Foundation’s Adopt-a-School program, Madison’s public schools are “adopted” by a local business, organization, or government agency, forming mutually enriching partnerships.

Why I Give

When I began as a principal in the district, a representative from the Foundation and I had the opportunity to meet. Her warm welcome coupled with the selfless mission of the organization inspired me to get involved initially. I was then able to see the meaningful contributions the Foundation makes to our schools each and every day, which inspired me to continue my support.

LEIA ESSER

We support the Foundation because we believe in public education. We strongly believe that the public school system is a bedrock community institution that provides opportunity for all children. Through the Foundation’s financial support, many innovative projects that enhance the educational experience of Madison children have begun and been sustained over the years.

NAN & BOB BRIEN

As a strong believer in the public school system, I’m convinced that a strong preK-12 program is the way to ensure equitable opportunity for all. The Foundation’s enthusiastic attitude supports promising educational practices and exemplifies philanthropic leadership. It’s a phenomenal ally and advocate of Madison’s schools, and as a high-caliber, well-managed organization, it is richly deserving of our support.
