Welcome to Elvehjem Elementary

A warm and welcoming environment

We look forward to establishing a strong educational partnership with you for the benefit of your child.

At Elvehjem Elementary, we are focused on supporting the learning of all students to reach their full potential. We are a true neighborhood school tucked away in a residential area in which our 500 students live. Our school takes pride in partnering with families and the community. We take pride in our diverse population and the many different languages and traditions that are represented at Elvehjem and celebrate all that each family and student brings to our community. The result of our collaborative work within these partnerships creates an environment that offers excellent academic experiences for every student.

What Makes Elvehjem Unique:

  • An environment that continually evolves to address the individual and changing needs of students to create a school community which values respect and diversity.
  • Birthday Book Club – Principal Larson will be celebrating birthdays with each child on a weekly basis. Each week she will invite the birthday children to come and choose a birthday book.
  • Parent Room to help families with school supplies.

MEET OUR ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PARTNERS

Through the Foundation’s Adopt-a-School program, Madison’s public schools are “adopted” by a local business, organization, or government agency, forming mutually enriching partnerships.

Why I Give

When I began as a principal in the district, a representative from the Foundation and I had the opportunity to meet. Her warm welcome coupled with the selfless mission of the organization inspired me to get involved initially. I was then able to see the meaningful contributions the Foundation makes to our schools each and every day, which inspired me to continue my support.

LEIA ESSER

We support the Foundation because we believe in public education. We strongly believe that the public school system is a bedrock community institution that provides opportunity for all children. Through the Foundation’s financial support, many innovative projects that enhance the educational experience of Madison children have begun and been sustained over the years.

NAN & BOB BRIEN

As a strong believer in the public school system, I’m convinced that a strong preK-12 program is the way to ensure equitable opportunity for all. The Foundation’s enthusiastic attitude supports promising educational practices and exemplifies philanthropic leadership. It’s a phenomenal ally and advocate of Madison’s schools, and as a high-caliber, well-managed organization, it is richly deserving of our support.
