Welcome to Badger Rock Middle
Connected to the neighborhood.
Learn about the progress and exciting opportunities of Madison’s newest school.
We prepare every scholar for college, career, and community through project-based learning with an urban agriculture focus. Scholars integrate knowledge from all four core subjects (math, science, social studies and language arts) to find solutions to real world problems.
Through our focus on urban agriculture, scholars learn important life skills of communication, collaboration, and self-wellness. We are also driven by our core values of place, cultural relevance, sustainability & resilience, and design & inquiry.
What Makes Badger Rock Unique:
- Public instrumental charter school with an interdisciplinary, project based learning program focused on environmental sustainability.
- Community Market held every Thursday, featuring vegetables grown by the students
- CommUNITY dinners
- Strong partnerships with local organizations that provide community-based experiences such as trips to nature centers and local organizations.
- Smaller learning community that provides more individual attention to scholar needs as well as the opportunity for deep and meaningful relationships.

“We are so excited to be a part of this amazing school! We have the most awesome school available to middle school kids. It really makes a difference who is leading the school and how involved the parents are. Come and visit the greenhouse and see what’s growing inside and let the kids tell you how they did it.”

MEET OUR ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PARTNERS
Through the Foundation’s Adopt-a-School program, Madison’s public schools are “adopted” by a local business, organization, or government agency, forming mutually enriching partnerships.

Why I Give
When I began as a principal in the district, a representative from the Foundation and I had the opportunity to meet. Her warm welcome coupled with the selfless mission of the organization inspired me to get involved initially. I was then able to see the meaningful contributions the Foundation makes to our schools each and every day, which inspired me to continue my support.
We support the Foundation because we believe in public education. We strongly believe that the public school system is a bedrock community institution that provides opportunity for all children. Through the Foundation’s financial support, many innovative projects that enhance the educational experience of Madison children have begun and been sustained over the years.
NAN & BOB BRIEN
As a strong believer in the public school system, I’m convinced that a strong preK-12 program is the way to ensure equitable opportunity for all. The Foundation’s enthusiastic attitude supports promising educational practices and exemplifies philanthropic leadership. It’s a phenomenal ally and advocate of Madison’s schools, and as a high-caliber, well-managed organization, it is richly deserving of our support.
