Door Creek Church

6602 Dominion Drive

The Adopt-a-School program is a dynamic bridge between schools and the community.  It is designed to be an easy and efficient way to invest community resources in our schools, with the goal of expanding educational opportunities for all Madison public school students.

Are you interested in learning about the many opportunities to support our public schools and how your business or organization can participate in the Adopt-a-School program?

If so, please join us for the Foundation for Madison’s Public Schools Adopt-a-School Summit on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Door Creek Church.

The Adopt-a-School Summit will help you gain perspective on the needs of our schools and how the program works to establish and strengthen school-community partnerships. It will also provide an opportunity for existing and potential Adopt-a-School partners to learn about best practices and the many ways partners are supporting their schools.

Online registration is required by April 23.

At the Summit, guests will hear from Jennifer Cheatham, Superintendent of the Madison Metropolitan School District, about the importance of partnerships to our schools and students.  A panel of representatives from currently engaged organizations will discuss the benefits of the Adopt-a-School program to both schools and adopting organizations.  The discussion will be facilitated by Neil Heinen, Editorial Director for WISC-TV and Madison Magazine.

We encourage you to attend and to share this invitation with interested colleagues. Please register online by April 23.  You will be asked to indicate which of the following breakout sessions you would like to attend and we will do our best to accommodate your selection:

  • Potential Adopt-a-School Partners: How to Establish a Relationship (Especially useful for those interested in exploring the possibility of establishing an Adopt-a-School partnership)
  • Fifty Ways to Support a School: Human, Material and Financial Resources (Appropriate for all; especially useful for partnerships that have been established for approximately one year)
  • How to be a Champion for Your School and Madison Public Schools (Appropriate for all; especially useful for well-established partnerships)
  • Enhancing Our Future Workforce – from Elementary through High School (Appropriate for all; especially useful for partners interested in providing students with experiential learning opportunities)

We look forward to seeing you May 3 at 8:00 a.m.  Assorted juices, coffee, rolls, and fruit will be served.  Program will begin at 8:20 a.m.
